basics

Thanks for checking out regional. we assume that everyone knows the basic rules of rp so we will keep this simple and straightforward. everyone is required to maintain the basic line between ic and ooc at all times. crossing this boundary won't be tolerated at all. with all storylines realism is the key. god modding, bullying, and harassment are strictly forbidden. if you are not sure about something or have an issue, please comment the dropbox or shoot us a pm and we will get back to you as soon as possible. pbs will follow the five year rule (ie: if your pb is 30, your character will be no older than 35 and no younger than 25). every pb utilized here must be over the age of 18. exceptions to the 5 +/- rule may be made for actors and actresses who have recently played much younger characters and other pbs (models, musicians, etc) who look younger than they are, but we reserve the right to say no. pbs must be realistic to their actual ethnicity and we would ask that you limit pb changes to two in a six month period. please also wait until the request is approved before making any changes.

applying

to apply you will need to have both an ooc and friends only post up, please backdate these to prevent cluttering on the friends pages. a biography is not required, but we would like at least the basic information about your character to be up within your ooc post when you apply. all usernames should include your characte's name without extra words, letters, numbers, or underscores. we do require examples, a minimum of two scenes and one narrative. acceptance into the community is almost entirely based on the quality of examples, so please make sure you provide your best. we will not answer questions about why an application was deleted. if it is something fixable, we will shoot you a pm, otherwise, we do not, for various reasons, see your writing as a good fit for the community. if you are rejected, you may feel free to provide different examples and apply again at any time in the future.

activity and interaction

upon acceptance you are required to post an introduction within three days, if you fail to do so, you will be removed. the activity period will always start on the 1st and end on the 30th/31st. you must update at least twice in that time frame, updates can be anything from lyrics to instagrams, narratives, etc... one update must be interactive and you must reply to a good portion of the comments for it to count towards activity. the other update can be anything your heart desires. also, while you are only required to post once a month, if you continually post and then disappear, we will approach you about your activity. if you continue to do this, you will be removed. the key to a community surviving is interaction. hiatuses will be granted for up to four weeks at a time, after the four weeks is up, you may ask for an extension if necessary and they will be granted on a case by case basis. week-long extensions will also be granted on a case by case basis, but they should be a rarity given the fact that you can update with anything at all. if you join on or after the 15th of the month, you will not be required to update until the following month as long as you are interacting on the friends page. it is imperative that you keep your friends list up to date, in order to keep interaction at a healthy level and to ensure that all members feel welcome. if your friend's list is more than two weeks out of date that will be grounds for removal. after all, if you are not interacting with other members there's no reason to have the character in the community. discord and/or wire is completely optional and neither encouraged or discouraged, though if they become a problem or start to impact activity this may change. social media accounts (ie: facebook, tumblr, instagram) will not be utilized in game and we ask that you not make them for your characters as they tend to detract from the friends page.
